What’s the best part of traveling?” you might ask.

-Well that easy. THE PEOPLE. It’s the strangers that you meet, the locals that give you advice, the memories, the laughs, the tears at random cafes, the spontaneous day trips.

Traveling opens your eyes to the immense beauty in this world and although I'm a 1st generation Egyptian immigrant girl I am able to experience it.

So I know you can as well, regardless of your background. Consider me your crazy big sister (oh you already know we about to have the best time😝) always trying to save you money and share things that took me years to learn.

I hope that I can show you that there are still many amazing people and breathtaking places here on God’s good world which you can go see for yourself. I love you pumpkin.

p.s. only the coolest people are pumpkins😉

Hold on

Sandra pumpkin daring your forgetting just a couple of things. #1 you're an Egyptian immigrant. #2 you're the oldest daughter of four kids. #3 you're not rich. #4 this type of life isn't an option for you. Right? Wrong. At 18yrs I would have killed to see someone living this life who was in my boat so I could rest assured it was possible. I guess I become the living proof. Living prove that this life of traveling young (and often alone), seeing the beauty in the world God created and being in awe of Him, making friends with strangers and collecting stories that sound like they could be the plot of any adventure movie, all of it is very possible. But just needs a bit of strategy. Let me explain

He knew

In short, God knew who He was forming me to be when He gave me a mom like mine. The inspirations and the vision behind seeing the goodness of God in strangers and in creation wasn't something I stumbled upon it was instilled in me by my mom's open arms approach to everyone she meet. Introducing to you momma Rozet🤝

I hate to say it

When I realized that traveling was a skill and I could just go 0 to 100 (rip to the first solo trip to Costa Rica I planned and thought it was go over well with my dad), I started planning the game; the travel ladder game. To play said game to need to be observant of hidden opportunities you have in your life that can push you put the ladder a step at a time. For example, the first trip I ever took on my own(ish) was to visit my high school friend who ended up cheering competitively at a university in Virginia. I stayed the weekend with my friends family and most of the logistics were taken care of. This was perfect since I was just starting out. I realized for my own sake and for my parents, going one steps at a time helped me build my confidence in my ability it have high quality decision making and helped my parents gain that confidence in me as well. Each step was stretched both me and them to a new level of adventure, growth, and risk (my dad's favorite word lol).
